In this project I have learned to confidently display and make my own set of instructions. This project has taught me to be clear and concise when delivering important information to an audience. Every detail matters and leaving any out can bring down the quality of my work. I had to think carefully and break it down to the most basic level so it would be easy to understand for anybody. In technical communication, it is very important for your audience to to not misinterpret any given information. You must be clear and concise, and use proper language.
I have made a resume once before but it was completely geared towards something else that I had wanted to do in my life. Times have changed and I have had to make adjustments. My new resume was made in my ENC 3241 Technical Writing Class. I was explained the importance of a well organized and unique resume. It is a representation of you on paper with all your accomplishments so far. I learned that this is extremely important to keep up to date and make any changes necessary.
Before arriving here at the University of Central Florida, I have never done a cover letter before. It was completely new to me, but I was taught well in my ENC 3241 class. A cover letter taught me that there are more than one way to express the interest you have in a particular job or internship that you would like to hired for. It expresses your skills and knowledge in a extremely professional way, giving you the upper hand over another individual who had not submitted a cover letter with their application.
The proposal I had to work on was by far the most difficult writing assignment I have done. It required me to do so many different tasks. Some of those tasks were researching topics related to the my proposal idea; taking that information from those articles and turning them into your own words to try and persuade whoever your audience is to accept your proposal and as well as proper formatting. Another aspect of this project was that I was tasked to do this assignment with two other individuals. I am no stranger to working in teams but this was my first time doing so in a college/university type environment. Before this class I really did not understand the importance of a proposal. This project really opened my eyes to the complexity of some proposals. It has shown me how they require so much time and effort as well as effective teamwork and communication for it to be done in a efficient manner.
