Hello! I am a 24 year old student studying Computer Science at the University of Central Florida! Before coming to UCF I have received my Associates of Arts Honors at Florida SouthWestern State College with a 3.9 GPA. I was also in the United States Marine Corps, I had joined right after High School. During my time in the military I have learned so many crucial skills needed to succeed in the world now. Those skills are but not limited to, communication, teamwork, multitasking, time management, etc... I was a Heavy Equipment Operator while actively serving. Now you may think that computers and construction are two very different things, and you'd be right! Computers is what I love, so that is why I decided to continue my schooling here at UCF and challenge myself again in all aspects. I have learned some coding skills while at FSW, but here at UCF is where I have learned to code in Python and as well as C! My degree is not entirely programming classes. It is a mix of science, math, and some English courses which I enjoy! The complexity of this degree is what makes it interesting to me. I really wanted to continue my education because of the fact that I missed out of college when I joined the Marines. I saw my friends all graduating with various degrees. It made me want to continue because of the challenge it represented. University is home to people of all ages, but I still feel that I am in the minority of students here. Sometimes I feel like just doing what would be seen as the easy option, which is construction. However, I try and hold myself to a higher standard and want to accomplish more. I still have a long way to go but I am very excited for the journey and can't wait to see how much this page and my education expands!
